Marcel van Limbeek started his career in 1987 as a live engineer for Dutch punk rock band Tröckener Kecks. In 1991 he moved to London to tour with Johnny Cash, Nanci Griffith, The Temptations, Big Country, The Beautiful South, Terrorvision and Tori Amos.

In 1995, after completing a year long world tour as monitor engineer for Tori Amos, Marcel was asked to engineer and mix Tori’s following album “Boys for Pele”. It was the start of a long, successful and ongoing partnership with Tori and her engineer/husband Mark Hawley.

In 1997 Marcel designed Martian Engineering, Amos’ and Hawley’s top-flight recording studio in Cornwall, where he and Mark engineered and mixed all of Tori’s subsequent albums and projects.

As can be seen in his discography, they have had numerous Billboard hits and Gold and Platinum records, plus several of Tori’s records received Grammy nominations.

In between the making of Tori’s records, Marcel has continued to work as her monitor engineer. In 1999 he was awarded “Monitor Engineer of the Year” by Live! Magazine.

Other artists Marcel has worked with in the studio include The Devlins, on their critically acclaimed records “Consent” and “Waves”, Damien Rice, Pet, Layla Astley and Leonna Naess.

Marcel is driven by his passion for music, technology, high-quality audio and attention to detail. Altough an established audio engineer in more than one field, Marcel is now gaining recognition as a world-class mixing engineer.

Using his ears and dealing with people are his strengths. Mixing music is his love and speciality. Marcel owns a large collection of high-end studio equipment.
